Cementing Plugs

Cemenging plugs are used to remove the mud during cementing operations. Two types of cementing plugs are used in the cementing process, bottom cementing plug and top cementing plug. The top cementing plug has a solid body that provides positive indication of contact with the landing collar and bottom plug through an increase in pump pressure. The bottom cementing plug is launched ahead of the cement slurry to minimize contamination by fluids inside the casing prior to cementing. Our cementing plugs including standard type and non rotating type, customers choose the right cementing plugs according to float equipment type. Inner material of cementing are aluminum alloy or Nitrile Butadiene Rubber , the plugs are easy to drill and used in high temperature. The top plug and bottom general have different color in production for easy usage in operation.

Cementing Plugs are very popular in the petroleum industry as it is quite efficient in the business. The problems that occur are more long-term normally caused by poor cementing jobs. Cementing Plugs can contribute to long-term well integrity failures, otherwise, the cost to fix these problems are highly expensive. Both the Cementing Plugs work with the right amount of co-ordination thus, the quality matters a lot. We assure you the best quality as one of the respectable suppliers in this broad industry.

Defective drilling mud removal during the cement slurry displacement in the annulus, insufficient cement height causes leakage and corrosion problems are some of the causes. In the meantime, it can cause pressure build up in the annulus between the casing strings and zonal isolation, we-control problems and the remedial solutions for this are normally expensive and difficult. It permits the slurry to flow through it and up the outside of the casing string.

Two types of cementing plug are typically used on a cementing operation.

  • The bottom plug is launched ahead of the cement slurry to minimize contamination by fluids inside the casing prior to cementing. A diaphragm in the plug body ruptures to allow the cement slurry to pass through after the plug reaches the landing collar.
  • The top plug has a solid body that provides positive indication of contact with the landing collar and bottom plug through an increase in pump pressure.

FEATHURES

  • Rubber Cement Plugs plays a vital role during cementing operations. Plugs minimize the contamination of cement by removing dispersed mud and mud sheath from the casing inner diameter.
  • Before the cement slurry and behind the space, a bottom rubber plug is pumped. As the plug moves down the string, it removes the left dispersed mud from the inner diameter of the casing.
  • A diaphragm on the plug gets ruptured due to the pressure exerts when the bottom plug seats are at the float collar. This helps cement to flow through it.
  • It twists the corner of the hole or toe end, located at the bottom of the horizontal well. The annular space between the casing and the formation is then filled.
  • By this way, after the full volume of cement has been pumped, a top rubber plug is dropped and pumped behind the slurry.
  • The top plug then removes the left over cement from the inner diameter of the casing and reaches at the float collar.
  • It then rests on the bottom plug to cause a pressure. It also indicates that the cement has been displayed.
  • Both the top and bottom plugs are always different. Bottom plugs are red while top plugs are black.
